HOWDEN Screwcompressors:
Send us always the type of the compressor – you can find the model on the type shield on the compressor it starts always with MK for instance . Mk4/WRV204/165.50/234- and the refrigerant.
The main parts required for for overhaul are:
- Shaft seal kit
- Thrust bearing
- Journal bearing
- Annual inspection kit
- addition spare part by failure – part load sensor – mikro-switches of electronic part load sensor
The Howden XRV models are the 100% roller bearing compressors. As the radials and Thrust bearings are roller bearings . The XRV models are available as Manual VI ( MVI ) and Auto Vi ( AVI). Based on the type shield indicaton we find the following information , for instance if the Type Shield shows: MK4/XRV204/165mvi/ 789. We find a rotor diameter of 20,4 – the working length of the rotor is 20,4 x 1,65 , the vi is adjustable from 2,1 to 5.0.
By these models you can :
- Exchange the shaft seal– you require only a shaft seal set
- In case of inspection the trust bearings – you require only a Annual inspection kit . we recommend to exchange inspect and exchange the seals of capacity control ( PFTE rings and O-rings under the PFTE seals
- If turn out the Thrust bearing have no pre-load ( negative clearance – exchange them – so better to have thrust bearing kit available by Thrust bearing inspection – recommended service interval : 2 -3 of operation
- By general overhaul you require all available kits.
- Modify the mechanical part load in indication by MK4 models in electronic part load indicaton . You can do this with the RM- LPI set ( provide only 4-20 mA ) or the Howden led version ( leds for each 10% capacity and 4-20mA)
- By these models you can :
- Exchange the shaft seal– you require only a shaft seal set
- by not correct responding of side valve- you require the annual inspection kit- we recommend to install a isolating ball valve – which you can close if the compressor is running on 50% load – wait for 30 min. Is the position not changed – the capacity seal is ok – if the compressor load running with closed valve to 100% the capacity seal defect- you require a annual inspection kit to repair.
- By general overhaul – you require all available kits.
