Pirelli couplings : the flexible solution
In the early 60 the Pirelli coupling was only produced in Italy – today all over the world under many labels names – however thee are still small differences to take in to account .
There two kinds available the standard and the reinforced versies- the Standard is the most used one.
you can recognize the correct coupling on the number of bolts and the S -size. the following sizes are available:
- size 4 : 6 bolts ( M8 x 50) -S= 28 mm – torque 25 Nm
- size 8: 6 bolts ( M10 x 55) – S= 32 mm- torque 50 Nm
- size 16 : 6 bolts ( M12 x 75) – S= 46 mm- torque 80 Nm
- size 27: 6 bolts ( M14 x 80) – S= 50 mm- torque 130 Nm
- Size 55: 6 bolts ( M20 x 110)- S= 62 mm- torque 400 Nm
- Size 80: 6 bolts ( M20 x 120) – S= 68 mm – torque 400 Nm
- Size 120: 8 bolts ( M20 x 130) – S=78 mm- torque 400 Nm
- Size 240 : 8 Bols ( M27 x 160) – S=100 mm – torque 400 Nm

In case of replacement of the elastic part you will notice that the elastic part is delivered with at Strap . There is a special reason for that. We provide you the required information in front -before you make yourself the exchange job very complicated follow the steps:
- Purchase always the new elastic element with new bolts – The bolts will experience the same wear as the elastic part – besides there are many different manufactures today of the elastic part and the key is that the special bolts fit 100%.
- Mount the elastic part with the new bolts on the tighting torque of the information sheet
- cut the scrap
- Align the compressor / pump – we prefer a laser alignment tool.
